Spring wake up baby tortoises

They've been asleep under the rocks for several months. They were thirsty. This is our version of ground hog day.

We put the babies back into the living room terrerium for their second winter. Unlike last year when they were out every day trotting around, they sleep all the time this winter. When they do come out, they tend to drink and go back to sleep. Cute huh? Stay tuned; Ed

Baby desert tortoise

In 2009, 3 baby desert tortoises were hatched. Eggs were laid on the 4th of July, and hatched between September 18th and the 20th. They are amazing time wasters. You can waste an entire day just watching them roam around their terrarium.
